We also have our very own Vintage market stall stocking great vintage clothing and accessories. We’ve trawled the markets for great vintage items, just so you don’t have to. But remember, it’s likely that there will be only one of each item, so once it’s gone, it’s gone!
Making a purchase
All the items you see on the site are available to buy online, unless it states that they are ‘out of stock’.
To make a purchase, all you need to do is click on the item you wish to buy, select the size and/or colour required and click 'add to shopping bag'.
If you want to carry on shopping, click on 'continue shopping' and then you can then go back and add additional items to your shopping bag. Once you’re finished and you’ve chosen everything you want, click on 'go to checkout'.
Then follow the simple payment instructions at checkout. You’ll need to have your credit or debit card details handy, including the billing address (the address to where your card bills and statements are sent).
There are various delivery options available, but all orders will require a signature on delivery. For the UK - Saver delivery at £3.25 is Recorded 1st class mail. This delivery option offers up to £39 compensation for loss or damage to items. Special next day delivery at £6.00 is Special Delivery which offers up to £500 compensation for loss or damage to items. 48 hour delivery is by courier and costs £4.50. Sizing
Due to the fact that we have many different market stalls, sizes may not always be consistent. This is especially true for vintage items. pret a portobello tries at all times to give you as accurate as possible sizing information for each individual item. We provide the actual dimensions of each product in order to help you make the most accurate choice. If we think an item runs large or small, we’ll tell you!
Like true fashion markets, sizes are generally limited to small (8-10 UK size), medium (12 UK size), and large (14 UK size). For certain items there will be other sizes available. Often garments are ‘one-size’. In this case, pret a portobello will give its best assessment on sizing.
How to Trade
Well, this is a market after all. If you feel like doing some haggling, then go to the Let's Trade section of the website.
This section lists one-off items that do not have a set price. These items might be one-off samples, or end of line stock which will never be repeated.
If something takes your fancy, try to barter with out online market trader to see if you can catch yourself a real bargain! Simply enter the price you would be willing to pay, and get an instant reply from our trader to see if your offer has been accepted, or if you have to go higher. YOU ONLY HAVE THREE OFFERS PER ITEM PER DAY SO IF YOU REALLY WANT TO BAG THAT ONE -OFF ITEM YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE YOUR OFFER IS WORTHWHILE!
Once your offer is accepted, you will see a pop-up to tell you so. All you have to do is click on ‘add to shopping bag’ and then once you are finished shopping click on ‘go to checkout’, and the item is yours at that price.
But remember, just like a real market, other shoppers can bid on the same item right up until the point that you put it in your shopping bag, so make sure you don’t lose a bargain by being too slow!
